After School Site Manager
After School Site Managers beginning with the fall semester (30 hour position with benefits): Here’s your chance to have direct impact on young children’s lives. As an After School Site Manger you will be responsible for providing site based leadership, direction, development and management for the after school program at a Dallas ISD school. In this role, you will develop academically enriching curriculum and activities; recruit, train and supervise staff; partner with parents, community and school personnel while maintaining a focus on success for every student served by the program.
Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and three plus years related experience instructing children. You must be passionate about children and able to connect with them. Strong leadership and communication skills are vital. Computer proficiency is also a requirement and bi-lingual skills are preferred.

After School Site Guide
After School Site Guide (PT positions during school year—3pm-6pm, M-F; must be 18 years or older):
Big Thought is currently seeking After School Site Guides to provide a safe, caring and enriching environment for children participating in the after school program at Dallas ISD Schools. As a site guide, you get to play every time you go to work! You are responsible for coordinating creative learning activities with the children while demonstrating consistent positive interactions.. Responsibilities include assisting the manager with planning activities and program facilitation as well as helping each child develop a positive self-esteem.
Ideal candidates will be passionate about children and have the ability to connect with them. Some college coursework in recreation or child development is preferred. Ability to successfully guide children and communicate effectively is essential.

Internal Audit Manager
Internal Audit Manager (Full-Time Exempt 40-hour position with benefits):
The Internal Audit Manager will be responsible for the accounting of all grants including budgeting, reporting, compliance and audit and will report to the Chief Financial Officer. Essential responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Develop and implement policies, controls and procedures for grants to ensure adequate records and audit trails are maintained
- Interpret and apply funding regulations to ensure all policies and procedures and federal procurement and contracting requirements are met. This includes direct grant expenses, matching funds, subcontracted activities and indirect expenses.
- Implement an on-site review schedule for all grants to ensure compliance with grant requirements and audit standards.
- Maintain a grant schedule which will follow all grants from proposal to completion.
- Monitor and report on grant activity in compliance with OMB Circular A-133 and prepare required reports for the annual organizational financial audit.
- Prepare all necessary grant reports and communicate technical, budgetary and program details interdependently within the organization.
- Perform additional financial duties as needed.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting, along with at least two years of accounting experience gained through increasingly responsible positions. Well developed strategic problem solving and financial analysis capabilities are also required.
Ideal candidates will have knowledge of and experience in monitoring fiscal deliverables of project implementation in the nonprofit sector, grant compliance experience in a non-profit environment and familiarity with OMB Circulars A122, A110 and A133. Experience with an A133 audit is also preferred.

Marketing Project Manager
Marketing Project Manager (Full-Time Exempt 40-hour position with benefits):
The Marketing Project Manager will assist the Director of Marketing & Communications in overseeing the organization’s creative service-learning initiative and other functions related to this project. Essential responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Serve as project manager and initial point of contact on day-to-day functions and issues for the initiative.
- Manage collateral materials and marketing needs for Big Thought’s role in the initiative.
- Organize, schedule and document all processes surrounding the initiative.
- Manage all graphic design needs for the initiative.
- Manage the tracking, procurement and archiving of all press clippings – including the development of measurement reports when applicable.
- Manage initiative assets – including photographs, promotional materials and other key artifacts to ultimately be replicated and “modeled” across the country.
- Assist in communicating the Big Thought brand/messaging, as well as needs and other opportunities to community leaders, volunteers and those with prospective involvement in the initiative.
- Manage the PR/media relations contractor for this initiative.
- With contractor, pro-actively seek new media opportunities and build relationships with members of the local, regional and national press to spread the word about this initiative, Big Thought and its mission.
- Manage the documentarian for this initiative.
- With contractor, work with broadcast, print and Web-based media outlets to secure coverage of initiative.
- Manage process for creation of initiative documentary.
- Write and edit content for Big Thought’s websites, newsletters, other publications, curriculum, workbooks and marketing materials used to promote initiative.
- Support the management of all aspects of planning and execution of events related to the initiative.
- Participate in the development and management of day-to-day financial accounting for initiative.
- Assist in convening interval cross-functional project team to support/drive initiative.
- Prepare, create and deliver marketing plan and necessary materials needed to update and satisfy review board/chair expectations.
Secondary functions are as follows:
- Help ensure interdepartmental work flow (especially with the program department) as it relates to marketing/initiative workflow.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior level management, volunteers and partners.
- When deemed appropriate, act on behalf of Big Thought Marketing Director in absence of the Marketing Director
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications or education or equivalent experience. Candidates should also have at least three years of experience in education, project management or public relations/marketing/communications, as well as proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
Interested candidates must also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be an exceptionally organized multi-tasker comfortable keeping many "balls in the air," be a hardworking team player with the ability to relate to and communicate with employees on all levels, and be comfortable with change and not easily flustered. Candidates should also be strategic as well as tactical, have high energy and enjoy assuming responsibility, and have good relationship-building and customer service skills.

Out-of-School Time Director
Out-of-School Time Director (Full-Time 45-hour Director level position with benefits):
The Out-of-School Time (OST) Director is responsible for implementing Thriving Minds' OST strategies, including managing on-campus after-school programs and planning, coordinating and executing creative community strategies and programs. This position supervises all OST Site and Area Managers, and reports to the Vice President of Programs; essential responsibilities are as follows:
- Responsible for the design, development and implementation of the after-school programs at various campuses. Provides ongoing support and guidance to the programs following implementation.
- Develops, tracks and evaluates the purpose, design, materials, and implementation of the after-school program.
- Develops and manages a budget for the program, ensuring that expenses comply with grant guidelines.
- Prepares long range planning for the program.
- Establishes and maintains collaborative and supportive relationships with community partners, staff, Dallas ISD personnel, parents and students to ensure program success.
- Develops and implements systems for family involvement/engagement.
- Maintains knowledge of creative learning and develops programs to ensure a connection among creative growth, academic benefits, youth development and program activities.
- Maintains knowledge of Dallas ISD curriculum and collaborates with all Big Thought departments as well as external providers to develop programs to ensure a connection between the District curriculum and program activities.
- Develops training options and/or improvement plans to ensure the best operation of the program.
- With the Creative Learning Workforce Director, co-develops instructional training and instruction design models to ensure the highest quality instruction.
- Secures and coordinates consultants, specialists, materials, and other community resources to assist in assuring the program is effective.
- Disseminates ideas and information to other professionals; provide leadership in addressing the challenges facing the profession.
- Complies with all Big Thought and Dallas ISD guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Recruit, hire, direct, coach and evaluate direct reports.
- Performs related duties assigned.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in education, child development or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Candidates should also have at least five years of successful instructional leadership or youth development experience; experience managing staffs, budgets and education-related programs; experience in developing and executing projects and working with diverse constituents; and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, email and the internet.
Interested candidates must also possess the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures and data; coordinate district functions; apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; and maintain emotional control under stress. Candidates must also be prepared for frequent district- and/or state-wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; frequent interruptions; regular standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling; prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions; and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
