Students take pride in being able to listen to other rhythms from around the world and discuss how the rhythms are different or similar. They work with authentic African and Afro-Caribbean instruments as they explore musical sound, personal expression and multicultural connections. How are rhythms different or similar? How does rhythm create different moods? We integrate drumming with various instruments to create other art forms such as song, story and dance.
Learn basic music theory and vocabulary in order to talk about rhythm, such as how rhythm can create a mood or environment
