Description

In this 4 hour long, Audubon instructor-led program*, students explore the three ecosystems unique to Trinity River Audubon Center: Trinity forest, blackland prairie, and the Trinity river. Students use their senses to discover the world around them, meet an animal up close, and explore pond life using scientific tools. Programs are hands-on and include both indoor and outdoor components. To encourage extension and family engagement, all participating students earn a FREE FAMILY PASS, valid for one return visit. *Program length has some flexibility built-in to accommodate bus/travel schedules.

Students Will

  • recognize the differences between living organisms and non-living objects.
  • use senses to make observations about surroundings on a hike through the prairie, forest, and to the river.

Scheduling / Booking

Instructions: To schedule a program, download a program request form. Program request forms can be found at http://trinityriver.audubon.org/programs/academics. Select the program and scroll to the bottom of the page to download the request form. Programs are not guaranteed until you receive confirmation. We require signed liability release forms for all students attending programs led by Trinity River Audubon Center staff. Self-Guided field trips with no add-on programming do not need liability release forms. Our programs are invoiced according to reservation numbers. Please notify us at least ten business days in advance of any changes in number of participants attending; otherwise, the program is billed according to original reservation numbers.
Deadline: 1 week advance notice
Cancellation Policy: All notices of cancellation, reschedule request, and changes in number of students attending must be reported to Trinity River Audubon Center 10 business days in advance of the scheduled visit. Schools will be charged the full program fee if they fail to provide adequate notification of cancellation or rescheduling.
