Grant from Texas Women for the Arts Support Student Learning

Texas Women for the Arts

In times like this, funding for our work is critical to keep us going. That’s why we are so happy to report that we are recipients of a 2020 Texas Women for the Art’s Grant! This year, the Texas Women for the Arts granted 31 Texas arts organizations to receive over $369,000 for arts education programs.

Big Thought will utilize this grant from the Texas Women for the Arts to advance creative learning for youth in both in person and virtual settings. While many schools, community centers and libraries are closed, gifts like those from the Texas Women for the Arts enable Big Thought to use best practices for creating engaging distance learning programs, ensuring that arts and creative learning continues throughout the summer and after school.

“The mission of Texas Women for the Arts is so closely aligned with Big Thought’s mission of making imagination a day of everyday learning,” stated Big Thought President and CEO Byron Sanders. “We love having he opportunity to walk alongside Texas Women for the Arts in our mutual quest to awaken and nurture the artist in every Texas child.”
