Produced in partnership with Journeyman Ink, DaVerse is a program that creates a safe haven for creative expression among middle and high school students.

A Tradition of Creative Expression

Starting in 2005 at the Dallas Theatre Center, the event began as an intimate night of poetry with musical accompaniment and four shows a year. Now, in its twelfth season the show takes place six times a year at Life in Deep Ellum Cultural Center.

Shaping authentic voice

This team also offers a spoken word curriculum called DaVerse Works to schools in the community at no cost. Through the curriculum, workshops, and school assemblies DaVerse Lounge has impacted thousands of learners across North Texas.

Impact of DaVerse

3125 youth served annually
11603 student learning hours annually
74% of participants improved their writing skills in one or more traits over the course of the program
