Shaun Dowling
Immediate Past Chair of the Board
Shaun is the Director of Wealth Management at HFS Wealth Management and is responsible for guiding the Firm’s financial planning philosophy, process, resources and deliverables. He also works with clients and takes pride relieving their stress of managing personal wealth and making complex financial decisions. Shaun is a natural problem solver with an ability to develop and communicate complex solutions that appear simple and common sense to his clients.
In addition to holistic and values based financial advice to individuals and families, Shaun is a specialist in solving complex estate planning issues. He enjoys figuring out how to structure a client’s estate plan by navigating the rules, limitations and boundaries that exist within the tax and estate code.
Personally
Community service is important to Shaun and he currently volunteers with a Dallas based charity called Big Thought. Their goal is to enhance education for children in the Dallas Independent School District, both inside and outside of the classroom, through creative learning. Shaun also serves on the career development committee for the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Financial Planning Association.
Shaun grew up in Houston and moved to Dallas with his wife, Kelly, to join HFS Wealth Management in 2007. They had a son in 2013, and outside of work you can usually find him at home spending time with his family and friends. Shaun is a self-proclaimed “homebody” at heart, but he enjoys having friends come over to relax and cookout. When he’s not at home, you might be able to catch him on a golf course, at a Texas Tech football game or heading to a lake or the river to enjoy the water.
